Stitch Fix September 2015 #11

I have now been a Stitch Fix-er for a year, and what a year it has been.  My wardrobe has defiantly never seen better days.  My style has certainly improved, and I look more put together now.

What is Stitch Fix?   It is a styling service that for $20 (which gets credited towards any items you keep) you get five items hand-selected for you by a stylist.  You fill out a style profile and link a Pinterest board, so your stylists know what you like.

The opinions and words here are 100% mine!  This post contains referral links that provide a reward for me at no cost to you if you choose to shop.

This box was one of my favorites and had the potential to be a 5/5, but there were a couple of things I just couldn't justify keeping.  I had asked for another maxi dress for the first day of school and colored jeans, which I have been tying to get more of since my first pair last fall.

First out of the box was this top.  I really liked the cut and the color especially.  It was long, so there was no fear of ride-ups.

The sad part is that I have almost this exact shirt in a tank-style from The Loft.  It too is navy with white hearts.  I just couldn't justify another shirt like this, but in a different pattern it would have been a keeper.  It probably didn't help that my husband called it a Moo-Moo.

These jeans are the product of asking for colored jeans in just about every fix.  I get blue jeans sometimes, and one or two other pairs in odd colors or the wrong fit.  These, however, were perfect.  The color is perfect for pairings with fall tops.  They are EXACTLY what I wanted.

I pinned this top on my Pinterest board, and I loved it right away when I saw it in the box.  It is so ME.  Soft, roomy, casual.  I could picture hours on the sofa lounging in this top.

I really wanted to keep it, but it was really too big for me in a large.  The neck kept sliding off my shoulders.  I was also concerned about how it would wash up with the exposed ends of the fabric showing on the wrist and bottom hems.

The jeans are the Level 99 Giovanni Straight Leg Jean in Light Pink that I described above and kept.

I asked for maxi dress to wear the first day of school, and boy did I get a maxi dress.

I think that I own more dresses now than I have since I was little and my mother still dressed me.  I don't think I bought a single dress during my teens and 20's unless it was a formal dress.  Now I have a whole side of my closet with dresses for work and every day.  I have gotten great dresses from Stitch Fix, and this one is no exception.

I normally like bright colors, so this dress didn't wow me out of the box, but it was a perfect fit when I put it on.  The top was comfortable enough to wear all day and the detail on the bottom made it interesting.

I did wear this the first day of school last week in the brutally hot and muggy weather, and other than it being a little long to walk it with my arms full of first-day bags, I was as comfortable as could be expected on the third floor.

I never even tried the earrings on.  I liked them, but they were a piece that was contingent on keeping the others and after the heart blouse was going back, so were the earrings.
