About Me
I am currently a high school English and social studies teacher at Alma High School in Alma, Michigan.
I spent the last nine years at Carson City-Crystal High School where I also assisted with school improvement and district technology in addition to teaching full time; I also founded Carson City-Crystal’s growing Advanced Placement Program.
I began teaching in 2003 in Northern Michigan after graduating from Central Michigan University; I have taught at both Northwest Academy (Charlevoix) and at Onaway Area Schools before moving to Carson City-Crystal in 2009. I completed my Master's Degree in Education from Spring Arbor University while also earning a third major in Social Studies.
I completed my National Writing Project Summer Institute in 2007 at Tip of the Mit in Petoskey and have worked with the 4T Digital Writing Conference. I am also a Google Certified Trainer. I have presented at numerous Michigan technology conferences including MiGoogle and GoogleFest. I have been featured on Travel Blog, Educator Blog, and the Michigan Education Association Newsletter.
