Wordless Wednesday 3/6: A Grammar Anchor Chart

Wordless Wednesday is a quick post with just a picture from my classroom, a short explanation, and a question for you, my readers.

Every year I put a set of anchor charts up around my room for tricky grammar rules and commonly misused homophones. This one is one of my favorites because I originally got the idea from my seventh grade English class.

Mrs. Liebler passed away not very long after I had her as a teacher. She was the woman who finally made me understand that a lot is two words. She did this by having two signs, like mine below, on either side of her front wall. There was so much space between them that I never forgot that trick, or her, and use it in my classroom today.

What is your go-to grammar trick?
